SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
ProjectScotland's Founder, Julia Ogilvy, was awarded the coveted title of Ernst and Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2007. Ogilvy received the award for her work in founding and chairing ProjectScotland, the revolutionary Scottish charity engaging thousands of young people with volunteering opportunities across the country.
The former Managing Director of Hamilton and Inches who was crowned Scottish Businesswoman of the Year in 2001, was praised for her dedication when she turned her back on the business world to immerse herself in setting up the organisation which is transforming young lives across Scotland.
Julia said, “I am thrilled to receive the award. I am incredibly proud of ProjectScotland and what we have achieved in just 2 years. I truly believe we are making a difference throughout Scotland. Not only are we giving valuable experience, skills and confidence to the young volunteers but we are significantly increasing the capacity of the voluntary sector whilst having a huge impact in local communities and the economy overall.”
