I was a volunteer on the island of Iona and in youth groups in Govan and Royston for a year. We went to schools and did fair trade and community workshops. No day was ever the same. I'm a different person - much more confident. I came direct from prison and volunteering has helped me decide that I really want to do youth work. After being on the island for a week, young people just don't want to leave!
