I was at LGBT Scotland for 6 months organising an event for young people. Producing the event was a team effort, but the music and video documentary were all my own work. I had a full time job at the same time, but still managed to work 4 nights a week for LGTB and loads of weekends. Now I feel much more confident about going out and speaking to people I was very shy but now I can just get on and do my own thing. I've developed lots of new skills - it just shows how much you can get out of people if they're just given a bit of encouragement. We were the first group of volunteers to create a real outcome for LGTB Youth - now there's a group of 15 who've seen what volunteering can achieve. Now other agencies come and ask us for advice!
