An experienced leader and independent non-executive director/advisor. A strategic thinker with a pragmatic outlook and broad business leadership experience; with a successful track record at corporate, SME and start-up levels. Currently working with a number of ambitious and growing organisations at board level, advising on all areas relating to growth, including, sales and marketing strategies, investment, acquisitions, partnerships and exits. Providing coaching at CEO and Executive level, as well as for emerging leaders within these companies. Previous to this he was director of Microsoft in Scotland for five and a half years until 2010, and was Chairman of the Institute of Directors in Scotland for four years until December 2011. He spent twelve and a half years working for the Microsoft Corporation in a variety of UK wide and Scotland focused roles, also spending considerable periods of time at Microsoft’s US headquarters near Seattle, working with many of the company’s product groups, R&D and industry teams, as well as with many of the corporation’s senior executives. He was also responsible for Bill Gates’ only official visit to Scotland in 2007 and for bringing Microsoft’s European Government Leaders Forum to Edinburgh, despite fierce competition from Athens, Berlin and other European cities In a career which started at RBS in 1976, O’Hare has also worked in Government, and in a number of UK, European and US based companies. (ICL, Nixdorf and Digital Equipment Corp) in both Ireland and the UK. In addition to these roles, he has held, and continues to hold a number of high profile board positions in Scotland including, Chairman of the Institute of Directors, Board member of the SQA and Young Scot, Non Executive Director of the Government’s Post 16 Education Reform Board, member of the government’s National Economic Forum and Skills Utilisation Leadership Group. For many years he also served on the board of Scotland IS, the trade body for the technology industry in Scotland. He has been a regular contributor to press and media over the last 15 years and speaks regularly at conferences and events on the topics of practical leadership, technology trends and the importance of innovation in business and government. He has a passion for music, football, golf and travel, and has been married for 35 years to Elizabeth and has 2 children (David 30 and Lauren 27).

Emma has nearly 20 years cross-spectrum experience in the third sector with particular interest in working with young people and women facing barriers to life. Currently a manager with Evaluation Support Scotland, Emma is keen to help those who work directly with vulnerable groups to share their stories in order to learn and improve from them, and to influence policy and decision-makers. As a relatively new trustee, Emma brings knowledge of involving young people in all aspects of organisational growth. She believes passionately in enabling young people to grow, develop and tell it how it is. Emma is a mum of 2 and stepmum to 2 more, is a graphic designer by trade and has a qualification in life coaching. She mentors 2 degree students of youth and community work and has a natural curiosity for people and what motivates them.

John Glen is the Chief Executive of the Buccleuch Group, the banner group for a diverse range of companies owned by the Duke of Buccleuch. The Group covers a broad spectrum of services within the land management sector from visitor services on the four Country Estates to commercial property development, Bio-energy and agricultural services. John has had a long and varied financial career, spanning several continents and industry sectors, including household products and foods. Before returning to Edinburgh in 2008, John was based in Paris as Chief Financial Officer of Air Liquide, the world leader in Industrial gases. In addition, John was extensively engaged in the development on international accounting standards as the Vice Chairman of the European Financial Reporting Group (EFRAG). Alongside his work at the Buccleuch Group, John is also a non-executive director for BIC and is Chairman of the Board at Alba Trees, a subsidiary company of the Buccleuch Group.

Stephanie Wade is Director of The Tennent’s Training Academy (TTA) & Visitor Centre, a role she has held since July 2014.  The TTA is based at the Wellpark Brewery in Glasgow. Stephanie is responsible for helping students at the academy achieve new skills and qualifications; developing trainers who deliver a large programme of work across Scotland; and launching innovative employability programmes. The key philosophy for Stephanie and the TTA is developing Scotland’s young workforce and helping young people break into the hospitality trade, which in turn supports Scotland’s economy through the tourism and hospitality industries. Stephanie has helped grow the TTA’s client base from 70 to 700 businesses; she implemented brewery tours of the famous Wellpark brewery; and welcomed visitors such as the First Minister, Secretary of State, and Minister for Youth Employment. Stephanie’s previous post was the Director of Scotland for Springboard UK & The Springboard Charity, which helps to support young people in achieving their potential and assists unemployed people of all ages to find employment. Stephanie has also held previous posts as a Board Member of Tourism Skills Group Scotland; an Advisory Board Member of both City of Glasgow College and Glasgow Welcomes; and a Committee Member of Action for Children.

Julie-Anne is a qualified career guidance practitioner and an experienced senior manager who has worked in policy development and management in Scottish Government,Careers Scotland and Skills Development Scotland. She currently is on secondment as Secretary to the Vale of Leven Hospital Inquiry. A committed supporter of ProjectScotland since its outset, Julie-Anne has been a mentor with the organisation since 2007. She was also a mentor with the Scottish Youth Parliament and has recently become an E-mentor for the University of Edinburgh. When time permits, she enjoys assisting with her son’s primary class. Julie-Anne has a particular interest in supporting young people’s transitions and her experience and knowledge on employability and equality issues is well recognised. She has served on a number of Scottish Government advisory groups including the Additional Support for Learning Advisory Group and a Ministerial Group on Looked After Children and Young People. Alongside her work at ProjectScotland, Julie-Anne represents Scotland on the Council of the Career Development Institute and is a Fellow of the RSA. When not working or volunteering, Julie-Anne enjoys Pilates, singing in a choir and she is a big fan of the Edinburgh Book Festival.

Linda is a career HR professional with over 30 years regional/divisional/board level experience in a range of blue chip organisations working across the UK and Europe. Linda is a graduate in History and Education, holds a postgraduate qualification from Napier University and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Having worked for a variety of organisations including, United Biscuits, Northern Foods, BOC, Solectron, BSkyB, DC Thomson & Co Ltd and CHC Helicopters where she led the European/Africa/Eurasia HR Teams in the lead up to an IPO, Linda is passionate about HR professionals adding real value to the businesses they support and believes that a true HR Business Partner should easily be able to identify their contribution to the bottom line profitability of a company. Energised by opportunities to work in partnership with business leaders to create and deliver strategic plans and transformational change she joined City of Edinburgh Council from April 2014 - July 2015 on an interim basis to head up the People and Organisation function during a period of major change. Linda also serves as a non-executive Board Member at Blackwood Housing Association.
