Be a #PShero this National Superhero DayPosted on April 26, 2018
This weekend, our capital city is being turned into the City of Superheroes AND it’s National Superhero Day. Great timing for the release of the brand new Avengers movie which was partly filmed in Edinburgh. So what better time to celebrate the fact that we’ve reached a third of our target for our #PShero campaign?
#PShero is our Year of the Young People (#YOYP2018) campaign that aims to support an additional 35 young people in Scotland through our volunteering programme, helping more people to get on in life. So far, through pledges from businesses and individuals, seventeen people will be supported as a result of the campaign. But, we don’t want to stop there! We want more people to pledge to be a #PShero so we can support even more young people.
How do you become a #PShero?
It typically costs £1,500 to support one young person through our volunteer programme. So we’re asking wannabe heroes to pledge to support a young person (or several young people) in 2018. Now that may sound scary, but you have the rest of 2018 to raise funds and with our expert support, access to free charity event places and your own superhero style motivation – we know you can do it!
You don’t have to do it alone – gather your friends or work colleagues and create a team of superheroes! Find out more about how you can get involved as an individual on our #PSHero page.
How does your business become a #PShero?
Reading this and thinking ‘hang on, my business hasn’t done anything for Year of Young People yet?’ Well look no further, my superhero friend! Join other leading businesses, including Standard Life Aberdeen, Sainsbury’s Bank, Witherby Publishing Group and Baille Gifford and pledge to support one, three or five young people this year.
It’s not a one way street, if you pledge to support young people in Scotland we’ll provide you with a whole range of benefits in return (just in case that warm fuzzy feeling wasn’t enough). From an invite to our end of year celebration event to training for your work place, find out more on our business pledge page.
“In a world of ordinary heroes, you are wonderwoman”* – T&C’s apply (see below).
If you have a question about how to get involved with the campaign, get in touch with Graham Robertson, Head of Superhero Recruitment. He’ll be happy to come to your rescue and help elevate you to hero status!
In order to be wonder woman, or any type of hero, in the eyes of ProjectScotland you need to pledge to be a #PShero. No excuses apply.
