Black Friday? Cyber Monday? We’ll take Giving Tuesday.

Posted on November 24, 2015

Every December, much of the Scotland descends into a spending frenzy as we stock-up on gifts, eat festive treats, and attend parties. The action tends to peak around the last pay day before Christmas, which was aptly named ‘Black Friday’ by retailers in America. Discounted goods, busy stores, and panic buying have made ‘Black Friday’ and its successor ‘Cyber Monday’ famous with shoppers all over the world.

As a charity, we’re just glad that another phenomenon has made it over the pond – Giving Tuesday – a day dedicated to giving. After all, isn’t that what Christmas is all about?

Tuesday 1 December is Giving Tuesday, so we’re designing a day of fundraising that will raise money to support young people all over Scotland. Our target is £500 in one day, will you help us?

For one day only our CEO Paul Reddish (@Paul_Reddish) will become ‘Twinkle Toes CEO’. Sporting his wee pink tutu, he’ll embark on a day of fundraising that will motivate you to part with some of your hard-earned cash. See our esteemed leader shake what his mother gave him to some dance classics. Every time we get a donation, you get to see a new dance. Gangnam Style anyone?

Check our Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday 1 December to get involved

We support anyone aged 16-30 who wants to make a change in their life. Through our voluntary placements and support they get experience, learn new skills, grow in confidence, and get on in life. With £500 we will be able to do so much for young people all over Scotland:

  • £5 will train a mentor to help a young person reach their potential
  • £10 will bring a charity and a young person together
  • £15 could pay for a week of travel expenses so a volunteer can get to their placement

You can donate online now, or to donate £5, text “DOIT15 £5” to 70070. Thank you! Follow our campaign on social media using #TwinkleToesCEO.
