National Volunteers Week kicks off in the first week of June, so we thought we’d share a choice few volunteering opportunities with you:

  • The Black Watch Museum in Perth and Kinross is offering a volunteer a great opportunity to get stuck in and gain experience as a Marketing and Public Relations Assistant. You’ll work closely with the Museum Team implementing and delivering a marketing plan, helping promote the venue on a local, regional and national scale.
  • Our partners, Citizens Advice Direct, have great roles for people interested in gaining excellent office experience as part of a friendly and enthusiastic team. You’ll help support a range of people from all kinds of backgrounds, providing up-to-date information and advice on a whole host of subjects.
  • St Andrew’s First Aid provides training, volunteering opportunities, event cover and supplies across Scotland. They teach life saving techniques to over 20,000 people each year and provide First Aid cover for some of Scotland’s biggest events. They’re looking for someone to join them as a Logistics Volunteer to help prepare for various events that St Andrew’s attend throughout the year.
  • To celebrate the 700th anniversary of the battle of Bannockburn , the National Trust for Scotland has opened a brand new, state-of-the-art visitor centre in Stirling, allowing visitors to experience the battle like never before.  You can volunteer as a Learning Assistant and help deliver the new programme of schools workshops. You’ll gain experience working with children of a primary and secondary school level, and learn about educational delivery in an innovative new setting.

Remember, while we’ve highlighted these four volunteering opportunities this month, we do have many, many, more excellent and worthwhile opportunities throughout the country. Have a look at our volunteering map for more examples.
