After all the excitement of Wimbledon, it’s the least we could do to bring you the next big thing for summer. Check out this month’s hot volunteering opportunities:

  • You can volunteer in Dumfries and Galloway with our partners over at Wigtown Book Festival. They have a great Festival Events Assistant role available for a volunteer looking to get behind the scenes experience. Set in Scotland’s National Book Town, the Wigtown literary festival spans over ten days. Founded in 1999, Wigtown book festival became a charity in 2007 and is aided by the help of over 100 volunteers.
  • Join Get2gether as a policy and fundraising volunteer in Edinburgh, gaining invaluable experience as part of a smaller charity. Get2gether help run social events and activities for disabled members of the community. From speed dating, to theatre trips and ping pong tournaments, Get2gether are all about fun and friendship for their members.
  • Our new partners Volunteer Scotland have a great role available for those looking to volunteer in Stirling and gain experience in Videography. The volunteer will work alongside their Online and Web Content editor helping shoot internal and external footage. This is a great opportunity to see how a volunteering charity runs, and coordinates with numerous other charities across Scotland, whilst gaining invaluable practical experience.
  • Volunteer in Beith with the Beith Community Development Trust as a Graphic Designer. They work to support local sporting facilities and have hundreds of group, team, club, and individual members. The Graphic Design volunteer will benefit from working alongside the senior graphic designer and the marketing manager.

Remember, while we’ve highlighted these four volunteering opportunities this month, we do have many, many, more excellent and worthwhile opportunities throughout the country. Have a look at our volunteering map for more examples.
