“I’d volunteer if it led to work” says survey

Posted on December 13, 2013

A recent survey reported in Third Force News has found that nearly half of young people who do not volunteer would be likely to do so if it led to a job or training.

While volunteering isn’t just about finding a job, at ProjectScotland we recognise that in the current climate many people are using it as a way to get in life by building the experience needed to get the job they want.

That’s why we’re delighted that our own survey amongst volunteers who have completed their ProjectScotland placements has found that:

79% of ProjectScotland volunteers go on to paid work, further education or training

95% of volunteers reported improved opportunities in life

97% of volunteers would recommend ProjectScotland to a friend

It goes to show. Full-time volunteering is good for individuals and often does lead onto work.
