Join us for a workshop and wow those employers!Posted on April 30, 2015
Here at ProjectScotland we like to do everything we can to help our volunteers get on in life. That’s why we have developed our workshop program to complement our volunteering opportunities. Running throughout the year these workshops help volunteers develop all the skills they need to land their dream job.
Our workshops are made up of half day sessions which focus on key areas to enhance employability. This includes help with CV writing and interview practice. Our workshops even help to make the most of networking tools like LinkedIn. Alongside meeting other volunteers these sessions provide expert guidance through a range of fun and informal activities to help maximise our volunteers potential.
We work in partnership with several organisations, including Scottish Power, Tesco Bank, and Standard Life to give volunteers the inside scoop on what employers are looking for, and help them get ahead in their job search.
We even provide travel expenses to make sure our volunteers can benefit from these extra opportunities. (We’ll include some tea and biscuits on the day too!)
We have two workshops coming up in May:
Our Glasgow workshop will be held on the 12 May from 1:30-4:30. Run by Scottish Power, it will focus on all things interview related, from how to handle tricky questions, to what questions you should be asking your interviewer.
Our Edinburgh workshop will take place on the 29 May from 1:30-5:00. Delivered by Tesco Bank this session will help you with all stages of your application. This will be your one stop shop tackling your job search with confidence, you will get advice on perfecting your CV, how to stand out from the crowd, and will also have the chance to practice some interview techniques.
