Local opportunities volunteering

Article from the Montrose Review, June 29th 2013.

Local charities and ProjectScotland, the national youth volunteering organisation, are offering young people in Montrose the chance to get on in life, while giving something back to the community.

There is a range of full time volunteering opportunities for people aged 18-30 years. The National Trust for Scotland has an opportunity for a research, wedding and functions assistant, based in the House of Dun. You would help research wedding opportunities, promote venue services and plan, organise and attend functions.

The Scottish Wildlife Trust is looking for volunteers to work at the Montrose Basin: one as a Basin Ranger and the other as a Visitor Centre Assistant.

Take advantage of these excellent opportunities to boost your CV and gain valuable experience.

All volunteers commit for three months for approximately 30 hours a week.

They can apply for a weekly travel allowance and are offered a ProjectScotland mentor to help them think about the future.

Those who claim benefits should not be affected.
