Experience. You can’t get a job without it, but you can’t get it without a job. For many young people it’s a catch-22. That’s where we come in.
ProjectScotland helps young people aged 16-30 to get on in life through volunteering, whilst doing good in their community. We place young people into 13-week voluntary roles with local charities and not-for-profits. We take time to understand their needs, interests, and hopes for the future, before matching them to a volunteering placement and supporting them to reach their potential.
To give our young people every chance we run job-hunting workshops on CV writing, interview skills, and LinkedIn. Our young people also benefit from a ProjectScotland mentor who offers invaluable one-to-one support so our young people can take their next steps with confidence.
This is volunteering as a stepping stone to something better, but don’t take our word for it, watch our video featuring ProjectScotland volunteers.
- 78% of our volunteers go onto work, education, or training within 6 months
- 93% of volunteers said the experience made them more ready for work
- 94% of volunteers said the experience increased their confidence
We’re here for any young person, regardless of their background, qualifications, or the challenges they face. We work hard to help those who face the greatest disadvantages, whether that’s a disability, prior criminal conviction, or language barrier – we are open to all.
