We Are Ten: Meet Katherine and LauriePosted on June 19, 2015
We kicked off our 10th Birthday celebrations last week with an event at Falkland Palace, which is cared for by our partners the National Trust for Scotland. Minister for Youth and Women’s Employment Annabelle Ewing joined our CEO to visit the property and meet some of our past and present volunteers. You can find out more about the visit here.
Health in Mind have been a ProjectScotland charity partner since 2007. They promote the health and well being of people who experience mental health difficulties by providing an extensive range of services including counselling, support and respite.
Katherine Sellar, Community Fundraiser for Health in Mind, joined us on the day to help us celebrate. She has a long-standing relationship with ProjectScotland being a former volunteer herself. Having helped at the Edinburgh International Film Festival between her 2nd and 3rd degree years in 2007, she now line manages current ProjectScotland volunteers at Health In Mind!
One of her volunteers was Laurie Clarke, who, through her placement as a volunteer Admin and Fundraising Assistant last year has managed to secure a job with the Open University. Her stint as a ProjectScotland volunteer fuelled an interest in events and fundraising and despite her placement being over, she has continued to volunteer with Health in Mind. Laurie is an active champion of ProjectScotland, even getting into fancy dress for last year’s Spartan Race.
