After graduating in the summer of 2017, I knew I wanted to invest my time into something worthwhile and I decided to pursue a career in the 3rd sector. As well as working part-time in a pizza place I spent a lot of time volunteering in various charities. It was a great way of helping others and doing something for my community, as well as working out what I wanted to do. As part of my voluntary work I actually had a placement through ProjectScotland working for Disability Information Scotland. It was such a valuable experience, I gained confidence in an office environment and had opportunities to attend events and learn new skills. I was so inspired by the great work that PS does in Scotland to support young people and by the passion of the PS team members that when a job came up with them I had to go for it! In my spare time I still volunteer fortnightly as a befriender and I enjoy eating out (pizza obv) and spending time with friends and family.
