(Dundee)  – June 2022

Rachel joined ProjectScotland’s National Third Sector Fund (NTSF) project in Dundee looking to increase her independence, gain some valuable work experience and increase her confidence. The project delivers life skills, vocational skills and confidence building, aiming to remove barriers to finding sustainable employment. The project delivers this through one-to-one sessions with a dedicated Engagement Manager, matching with a mentor, and a tailored volunteering placement with one of our many partners across Dundee. Participants can expect a tip top CV, application writing skills, interview skills, positive workplace behaviours and improved confidence and mindset.

Rachel has worked tirelessly on the project and has gained some independence by attending travel training sessions with her Engagement Manager using public transport, and is now taking short bus journeys solo. She has put together an amazing CV and secured herself a brilliant volunteering opportunity with one of our partners. She is upcycling furniture, decorating home accessories, and repurposing “new to you” clothing.  Her designs are selling well in the shop, raising funds for local social enterprise, Uppertunity.

Rachel tells us that “I really like the painting and like talking to other people as I do it”

Well done Rachel! We couldn’t be happier for you.
